Me and my valentine plan to be there

The details

Dog People vs. Cat People: As Rodney King said "Can't we all just get along?"

This cool cat has had enough of all this talk about dogs being more popular than felines.

Even though a local UT psychology prof's latest research says dog and cat people have different personalities, we still don't know how to keep cats and dogs from fighting like, well, cats and dogs.

Meet Hunter, a rescue Dog on the Job in Haiti

Hunter, a certified and trained Search and Rescue Dog, is a red and white border collie that was born on a horse farm on New Year's Eve in 2002. Although both his parents were black and white borders, he inherited his coloring from his grandfather, who was also red and white. As a puppy, Hunter lived with Patricia Baldwin, who loved him dearly in spite of his tendency to chew anything and everything in sight. Patricia would take Hunter to a dog park to give him additional exercise. When he grew larger, Hunter followed his ancestral instincts and began herding the other dogs at the park, showing them that he was "Chief Canine-in-Charge."

Unfortunately, Patricia had to find a new home for Hunter when he was seven months old.

Will Auditorium Shores redesign include a leash-free dog park? PARD unveils concept tonight

What makes Austin Austin? The short list would have to include Auditorium Shores and its view of the (ever-changing) Austin skyline.

Ch-ch-changes: The city's Parks and Recreation Department's redesign of Auditorium Shores may eliminate the leash-free dog park because of complaints about dog poop that owners did not dispose of properly.

The department will hold an Auditorium Shores Stakeholders Meeting at the Town Lake Center, 721 Barton Springs Road, tonight from 6 - 8 p.m. The public will be provided an opportunity to review the conceptual design.
